In 2024, to comply with the trend of epoch development, undertake the historical mission of building a strong country with finance, and stride forward toward a brand new development stage, FISF officially announced its new school motto of “Unification FISF; Excellence, Responsibility, Innovation,” which represents our firm faith and ceaseless struggle in pursuing the completion of the “First Fudan” construction, “Five Centers” construction in Shanghai, and the realization of high-quality development!

The new school motto added the new word “unification,” which represents a belief, and also a faith. FISF will stay in unification with Fudan University as always, handing in “Fudan’s answer” to the “question of the times”; in unification with Shanghai, shaping top financial talents and building top financial think tanks for the construction of Shanghai International Financial Center; in unification with China, consolidating the basis of education and enhancing the spirit of culture for the high-quality development of Chinese finance; and in unification with far-sighted personage from all walks of life, seeing from international perspectives and taking root in Chinese practices with the purpose of moral value establishment, people cultivation and social commitment.

It also reserves the three key words “Excellence, Responsibility, Innovation”, symbolizing an incomparably superior state with lofty ambitions. “Excellence” is a spiritual pursuit of constantly exceeding limitations and reaching higher levels; “Responsibility” refers to a mission to apply talents in practices and achieve excellence through responsibility; and “Innovation” means a thinking method, an attitude to find a way out through thistles and thorns.

In the new stage and the new journey, under the guidance of the new school motto of “Unification FISF; Excellence, Responsibility, Innovation”, all the fellow teachers and students of FISF will stick to the “Three World-class” goal of “world-class academic research and discipline construction, world-class teaching projects and high-end talent cultivation and world-class thinktank research and social influence”, and strive to develop the school into a truly internationalized world-top financial school that has international influence and discursive power, can answer and settle major realistic problems in the development of the financial industry, and contributes its strength to the innovative drives, transformation and upgrading at national, local and enterprise levels.
